Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using GitDock ("the Software") or the GitDock Hub service ("the Hub"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Software or Hub.
2. Definitions
- "GitDock Dashboard" - the open-source local application, including the server, web interface, and associated files distributed under the Apache 2.0 license.
- "GitDock Hub" - the optional cloud service that provides multi-machine repository overview and sync.
- "We" / "Licensor" - the creator and maintainer of GitDock.
- "You" / "User" - the individual who uses GitDock or the Hub.
3. The Dashboard (Open Source)
3.1 License
The GitDock dashboard is licensed under the Apache License 2.0. You may use, modify, and distribute it in accordance with that license. The full license text is included in the repository and available at apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0.
3.2 What You May Do
- Use the dashboard for any purpose (personal, commercial, educational)
- Modify the source code
- Distribute copies, with or without modifications, under the terms of Apache 2.0
3.3 Contributions
By submitting pull requests or other contributions to the GitDock repository, you agree to license your contributions under the same Apache 2.0 license.
4. The Hub Service
4.1 Free Tier
The Hub offers a free tier that allows you to connect 1 machine at no cost. No credit card is required.
4.2 Paid Tier
To connect additional machines, a monthly subscription is required. Pricing is displayed on the Hub dashboard. Payment is processed securely via third-party payment providers.
4.3 Hub Account
- You are responsible for keeping your API key secure
- One account per person; do not share API keys with others
- You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Hub dashboard
4.4 Hub Data
The Hub receives only repository metadata (names, branches, sync status). It never receives source code, file contents, tokens, or credentials. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties
We do not warrant that the Software or Hub will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with all system configurations. You use them at your own risk.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Software or Hub, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data, revenue, or profits
- Damage to repositories or Git configurations
- Service interruptions or authentication failures
8. Third-Party Services
GitDock interacts with GitHub, which has its own Terms of Service. You are responsible for complying with GitHub's terms. We are not liable for changes, outages, or issues caused by third-party services.
9. Termination
You may stop using the dashboard at any time by uninstalling it. You may cancel your Hub subscription and delete your Hub account at any time. We may suspend or terminate Hub accounts that violate these Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights under mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
